Caldera® OpenLinux™ Workstation
release 3.1 is a complete development system designed for
developing and porting applications that require superior
performance on a unified UNIX® and Linux®
platform.
Developing for Caldera Platforms
OpenLinux Workstation targets Independent Software Vendors
(ISVs) as well as corporate and Open Source developers who seek
the ability to deploy on Caldera high-performance, unified Linux
and Open UNIX enterprise platforms. By targeting this
standards-based platform definition, developers leverage the broad
expertise of the Linux community. OpenLinux Workstation provides
developers with necessary tools, and facilitates the development
of applications for deployment on Caldera’s OpenLinux Server or
Open UNIX 8 platform with the Linux Kernel Personality (LKP).

the OpenLinux Workstation product. The Linux 2.4 kernel provides
significantly improved hardware support for new hardware devices,
improved SMP scalability, greater memory support, faster I/O
performance, and many other performance boosting enhancements.
Software Maintenance and Updates – Your OpenLinux
Workstation comes with a 60-day paid subscription to Caldera’s
Volution™ Online software maintenance service. This service allows
you, as a registered user, to receive and apply security, Open
Source software, and Caldera specific software updates to your
system. Volution Online also includes a decision-making tool that
helps you determine the effects of software updates before making
them on your system, thereby saving you time and potential
headache.

128–bit encrypted communication between any browser and OpenLinux
Workstation.
Additionally, Webmin has been given a facelift to present a
clean and professional look and feel.

it when and where you need it.
Volution Deployment Agent – The Volution deployment
agent is included to allow Volution servers to deploy software and
to manage system performance.
